Dr. Rosenzweig to speak during Climate Week NYC

From September 18th to September 24th, international leaders in business, states, and cities, along with academic researchers, artists, and music organizations will converge in New York City to attend the annual international conference: Climate Week NYC by The Climate Group.

Climate Week NYC’s goal is to ultimately provide a collaborative space for climate-related events in support of driving awareness and addressing climate-related issues to advance the global commitment to climate change. This year, Climate Week NYC will focus on the scale of global climate action and how jobs and prosperity can be ensured for all.

Many side sessions will be happening throughout the week and on Wednesday September 20th, AgMIP Principal Investigator Dr. Cynthia Rosenzweig will participate as a speaker at the side event “Agriculture And Climate Change: How Multistakeholder Actors Are Driving Positive Change And Innovation.” This event, hosted by the Global Alliance for Climate-Smart Agriculture (GACSA), the Columbia University Earth Institute, and AgMIP, will focus on the contribution from Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) to climate action and sustainable development. Additional discussion will highlight the challenges farmer organizations face in implementing CSA, and will emphasize the work of women, youth groups, and marginalized farmers at both the regional and international level.

The open event will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. To learn more, click here.
