ASA, ACS, SSSA ANNUAL MEETING: MANAGING GLOBAL RESOURCES FOR A SECURE FUTURE

The American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America will host more than 4,000 scientists, professionals, educators, and students at the 2017 International Annual Meeting, “Managing Global Resources for a Secure Future,” on Oct. 22-25, 2017, in Tampa, Florida. The event was held primarily at the Tampa Convention Center, with some meetings at the Marriott Waterside.

GLOBAL GREEN GROWTH WEEK 2017

United Nations Convention Centre, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) held Global Green Growth Week 2017: Unlocking Africa’s Green Growth Potential (GGGWeek2017), in partnership with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, GGGWeek2017 will gather GGGI members, stakeholders from the public and private sectors, international organizations, and civil society to strengthen and catalyze green growth in Africa and globally in order to achieve Nationally Determined Contributions to the Paris Agreement and make progress on the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 2017 ON CROP LOSSES CAUSED BY DISEASES, PESTS, AND WEEDS

October 16th – October 18th, 2017

INRA, Paris, France

Crop Losses International Conference 2017 (CLIC-2017) was held in Paris, on 17-19 October, 2017. The conference was organized by INRA in close partnership with CIRAD and the international networks AgMiP and MacSur. Plant diseases, pests, and weeds have negative effect on crop health, crop performances, ecosystems and society.

IMPACTS WORLD

Impacts World is the leading international conference covering the diversity and depth of climate-impacts research today. IW2017 follows on from the inaugural Impacts World 2013, held in Potsdam, Germany, which brought together impacts researchers and stakeholders from across the spectrum of impacted sectors, initiating an era of truly integrated cross-sectoral climate-impacts research.

DSSAT 2017- ASSESSING CROP PRODUCTION WITH SIMULATION MODELS

May 15th – May 20th, 2017

University of Georgia, Griffin, Georgia

The DSSAT Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Florida, the International Fertilizer Development Center, and various other institutions, will host an International Training Program on DSSAT entitled DSSAT 2017 – “Assessing Crop Production, Nutrient Management, Climatic Risk and Environmental Sustainability with Simulation Models”, at the University of Georgia Campus in Griffin, Georgia, USA. The overall goal of the workshop is to familiarize the workshop participants with the Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer (DSSAT) and the Cropping System Model (CSM) for the simulation of crop growth and yield, soil and plant water, nutrient, and carbon dynamics, and the application of models to real world problems, such as crop and resource management, climate change and climate variability, carbon sequestration, food security, biofuels, and environmental sustainability.

January 20th – January 25th, 2017

La Jolla, California

Annual Meeting is ILSI’s premier gathering where scientists and staff from around the world come together to discuss how the previous year’s achievements shape future programs and to identify emerging science and health issues on which ILSI can make a difference.
