The National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (SENAMHI) and the Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP) will hold the 2nd AgMIP-Peru Workshop at the Universidad Nacional del Altiplano in Puno, Peru on October 20-22, 2014.
At the workshop, SENAMHI and AgMIP will continue the development of capacity-building in the region, in order to produce climate change integrated assessments and adaptation strategies in Peru, while contributing to the coordinated efforts of AgMIP for the Sixth Assessment Report of the IPCC.
The main goals of the 2nd AgMIP-Peru Workshop are to:
Revise and understand AgMIP protocols for climate change integrated assessments
Train participants in AgMIP methods and tools for integrated assessments
Develop specific plans to carry out integrated assessments following AgMIP protocols
Develop funding strategies for AgMIP-Peru activities
Develop work plan and timeline for potential publications
Establish objectives with regards to i) the 5th AgMIP Global Workshop to be held in
Gainesville, FL on February 2015 and ii) the 3rd AgMIP Latin America and Caribbean
Workshop to be held in Colombia on May 2015
Organize the International Conference on Climate Change and Adaptation: New
Methods for Integrated Assessment of Impacts
