The workshop is a part of AgMIP’s USAID-funded effort:
Advancing Global Agricultural Assessments: Building the Next-Generation Global Gridded Crop Model System.
The project seeks to develop databases and tools (especially for soils and management) for improved gridded modeling at a variety of spatial scales and extents, as well as demonstrating the potential of multi-model integrated platforms for crop yield and climate impact simulations.
This is the second meeting for the project, which was kicked-off in Chicago in September. The project brings together AgMIP experts from the crop modeling, Ag-GRID, data/IT, and soils teams to improve the interoperability of models and datasets for large scale assessments in the context of Africa.
